Peter Savin is a senior pharmaceutical quality consultant with more than 48 years’ industry experience, including 25 years leading global functions and consultancy support for over 70 companies worldwide. A former Vice President of Global Quality Assurance at GlaxoSmithKline and International QC Laboratory Section Head, he holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and Chartered Chemist.

Across senior roles at Wellcome Foundation, Glaxo Wellcome and GSK, Peter led global quality assurance, corporate audit, governance and risk-management activities spanning R&D, manufacturing, supply, commercial operations and third-party networks. Since 2010, he has delivered consulting, auditing and training internationally, with particular strength in quality systems, inspection readiness, due diligence, regulatory remediation, quality culture, behavioural GMP and human-error reduction.

Key areas of expertise:

• Designs, implements and simplifies global Quality Management Systems, policies and supporting documentation.
• Develops risk-management frameworks, risk registers and governance processes that strengthen executive oversight.
• Leads internal and external audits across manufacturing sites, suppliers, contractors and strategic third-party networks.
• Prepares manufacturing and development organisations for regulatory inspections and emerging compliance requirements.
• Supports remediation following UK Inspection Action Group findings, US Warning Letters and Consent Decrees.
• Strengthens deviation investigations, root-cause analysis and CAPA effectiveness through practical, risk-based approaches.
• Builds quality culture and behavioural GMP programmes focused on human-error prevention and sustainable improvement.
• Provides executive briefings, coaching, tailored training, organisational design and change-management support.
