Neil Raw

Neil Raw began his career in the pharmaceutical industry in February 1994 and has extensive experience of pharmaceutical manufacture, particularly associated with sterile products and investigational medicinal products (IMPs). He spent approximately 12 years working within the pharmaceutical industry before joining the UK Medicines Regulator (MHRA) in 2006.

During his seven years at MHRA Neil  inspected 100’s of sites and gaining invaluable industry knowledge and understanding. Neil undertook inspections of sites panning a wide range of technical expertise including  steriles, non-sterile, investigational medicinal products, blood banks, plasma collection, specials, irradiation facilities, wholesale dealers & parallel imports. 

Prior to joining the MHRA GMP Inspectorate, Neil worked in a range of leadership roles in Quality & Compliance and is eligible to act as a Qualified Person (EU-QP). After leaving MHRA, Neil acted in a senior leadership role in Quality in the  manufacture of small molecule and biological treatments, and delivery devices for respiratory diseases. Neil has extensive expertise in supporting MHRA remediation for commercial and NHS specials manufacturing facilities and has acted as interim head of quality and contract QP for such facilities. Neil has extensive experience in inspection readiness, audits, coaching, QA leadership and remediation.
